Red Cabbage


Red Cabbage

 1 lb. bacon, cut into small pieces then cooked crisp
About 5 lb. red cabbage, shredded or cut fine
Add cabbage to bacon and stir to coat.
Add:     2/3 cup sugar
            2/3 cup vinegar
            I apple, quartered and cored
May need some salt.
Simmer about 45 minutes.
Even better the next day. Freeze any extra.
