Barbecued Beef Brisket


Barbecued Beef Brisket--Virginia
1 whole beef brisket

1. Sprinkle both sides with dry Onion Soup mix.
2. Wrap in heavy foil and place on baking sheet.
3. Bake at 325* for 5 to 6 hours. Remove from oven and refrigerate.
4. Slice thinly. Stand slices upright in casserole dish or glass baking pan. Pour barbecue sauce over sliced meat and cover.
5. Can be frozen at this point or reheat while covered in a low oven.

12 lb. brisket for 40-50 sandwiches

Bull’s Eye Barbecue Sauce
(I like it diluted a bit such as 6 cups sauce and 2 cups meat juices or water)
