Baking Powder Biscuits


Baking Powder Biscuits – Ruby Walker

In large bowl, combine:           2 cups flour                
                                                4 tsp. baking powder
                                                2 tsp. sugar
                                                ½ tsp. salt
                                                ½ tsp. cream of tartar
Cut in ½ cup butter. (**use frozen butter and grate it into the flour).  
Add 2/3 to 1 cup milk. Stir to mix.
On floured counter, pat dough into round or rectangle about ½" to ¾" thick. Cut with round or square cutter. (cut squares in half to make triangles). 
Place on ungreased baking pan.
Bake in hot oven 400* for about 12 minutes until golden.


**To make them fancy to serve with fruit,
Sprinkle with granulated sugar. Bake. 
Or remove from oven and while still warm, dust with icing sugar.

**Make heart shaped biscuits for Valentines Day.
