Toasted Cheese Pinwheels


Toasted Cheese Pinwheels

1 loaf unsliced bread
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 Tablespoons melted butter
1 beaten egg
Dash of cayenne pepper
2 teaspoons finely grated onion
1 tablespoon cream

1. Combine all ingredients except bread.
2. Remove crusts from bread and slice lengthwise in slices 2/3" thick.
3. Spread each slice with cheese mixture and roll up from long side, like jelly roll.
4. Wrap and chill for several hours.
5. Slice and place on parchment lined baking pan.
6. Place under broiler until golden brown, 2 minutes on each side.
7. Serve hot.
Makes about 5-6 dozen pinwheels.
